  • Dr Peter Saxton Awarded Top Australasian Honour

    NZSHS executive member and New Zealand AIDS Foundation Fellow Dr. Peter Saxton has been awarded the Mid-Career Interdisciplinary Achiever Award by the Australasian Sexual Health Alliance (ASHA).

    The award recognizes Dr. Saxton’s very strong commitment to both leadership and to advocacy with significant outcomes achieved for patients and communities within NZ.

    Emerging from the Nga Pae o te Maramatanga Mauriora Stream and through conversations amongst Takatāpui researchers, a research network is forming to develop a foundation upon which to build a Takatāpui Research Agenda and to encourage strategic research that responds to the research needs of the Takatāpui community.

  • New resource launched by New Zealand Aids Foundation

    Why should I use condoms? is an educational resource for young men who have sex with men (MSM) that supports them in making positive and informed decisions to address their specific sexual health needs.

    While this resource is built for educators, it has also been designed for other adults working to support the sexual health needs of young MSM.

    Why should I use condoms? is a resource provided by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation (NZAF), in partnership with Love Your Condom (LYC) – an HIV prevention programme run by NZAF that works specifically for MSM.

  • Genital wart cases drop with introduction of free vaccine

    New Zealand HPV project manager Claire Hurst said the government should follow Australia's lead and make the free vaccine available for young men as well as young women.
